There is much wisdom and value in this list. Most are easier said than done, but having reminders to aim for is so good.
It seems to me that being authentic is being brave enough or just candid enough...

I can chop idols down. I don’t like idols, not one little bit.

This links to Stanford’s digital photography course, in its entirety. I have Fridays off, and I think I just found what I’m going to fill them with for a while.

thankfully, the man in my life had a mom who did some, if not all, of these things, and i wholeheartedly believe he is so much the better for it. however, i would like to say that i think these aren’t just things to do for your son, but for all the men in your life. moms obviously set the foundation, but i’m sure brothers, boyfriends, and husbands (hopefully they aren’t one in...
that day i didn't listen to fear
so yesterday was the first day of 2012. i’d like to think it started of well, if not a bit uncharacteristically. we went to church (yay for sitting through a sermon for the first time in 1.5 months) and went home quickly, in order to prepare for the beginning of my insanity. I, along with 3 friends and about 45ish strangers, went swimming. Outside. In a lake. With 44 degree water, to be...

Today is the birthday of my favorite person in the entire world, Evan. In honor of him, here are 26 things I love about him.
1. I got my period at our wedding reception. Awesome planning, I know. E didnt miss a beat our entire honeymoon, letting me rest and sleep and vent and emote as much as I needed to. His patience and devotion those few days put me at ease and set the tone for our life...

fascinating thing of the day
I was reading a blog today that mentioned Finland’s amazing tradition of sending “baby boxes” to its expectant mothers; full of gender-neutral clothing, baby goods, and a box that is sometimes used as a crib! In lieu of the box, mothers can accept a grant instead. What a cool concept! If you’re interested, read more here or check out this year’s contents here. Do you...

Hedwig never died. I refuse to believe something like that. Not even Voldemort himself could stop Hedwig.

putting the fun back in funemployment
As some of you know, I became gainfully employed halfway through July at a local bookstore. I was so glad to have something to show for going to college, that I think I was oblivious to some of the undercurrents there. Long story short, we parted ways Wednesday of last week. (yay first time fired) Thursday and Friday were mostly spent in a daze/panic about what I am going to do next, but...
self-indulgence.
1. What fantastic day were you born on? August 24, 1989. It was a Thursday, and I was born at 3:49 am after like 20 hours of labor. Mad props to my mom. 2. When you were half your age, where did you picture yourself today? Well, I’m twenty-two today (weird.) so half my age is 11. I was in 6th grade, so I probably pictured myself becoming a social studies teacher after going to Clemson. I...
